Agreed. But the way I see it is: more than just saving power for an hour, the earth hour was to generate global awareness about the climate change -- a more euphemistic approach to get attention (and much more sane than the ways of PeTA et. al.). If we save a lot of power as a side-effect of this, what's the harm in that? :)
